Für den im September startenden Msc Sport Coaching gibt es folgende neue Informationen:
The MSc in Sport Coaching at Leeds Beckett University is a world leading programme delivered by internationally renowned staff in our brand-new CSS building (below). A video outlining the course can be viewed here. Our new building enables us to deliver our programmes in a blended and online synchronous approach. Our teaching rooms are equipped with cameras and microphones that allow us to live stream sessions, enabling students to watch sessions live from around the world, so they can support effectively online study whilst still benefitting from live group interactions and discussions. An online tour of the building can be viewed here.
The Trainerakademie (TA) partnership with the University means that, in gaining your TA Diploma, you have 100 credits of ‘advanced standing’ if you apply to the MSc. In the UK, an MSc consists of 180 credits of study, so this means TA Diploma holders have 80 credits remaining to complete, made up of the following modules, which are delivered across the academic year:
- Research Process (20 credits) (Sept-Jan)
- Optimising Skill Acquisition and Learning (20 credits) (Jan-April)
- Applied Coaching Project (40 credits) (April-Sept)
The Research Process module prepares you for your Applied Coaching Project, which is an extended project that should be research-informed but also practically applied and helpful to your current or future coaching role. The Optimising Skill Acquisition and Learning module fills a gap that we identified when mapping the TA Diploma against the MSc.
To make an application, TA candidates should contact university admissions, referencing the TA-LBU partnership. You will need to have proof of English language competence (IELTS 6.5 with no element below 6) and a letter from the TA staff confirming Diploma completion. The fees for 80 credits are approximately £6,700 for the 2022/23 year (for international students). To process applications in a timely manner, we need to receive them by the end of August.
Course delivery for the 2022/23 year will feature a blend of on-campus and online delivery. The on-campus classes happen 1-2 days per month (Mondays) and can also be watched live online (or via recordings) where necessary for those unable to travel.
